You Might Want A Man But Your Wardrobe Begs To Differ

I don’t understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little – if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that’s the day she has a date with destiny. And it’s best to be as pretty as possible for destiny. — CoCo Chanel

If you looked in your closet right now, how many items could you actually say, you loved? Its wonderful to have great pieces in our wardrobe, it makes us feel good about ourselves when we look good.

Knowing this why don’t more singles put their best effort into looking good?

You don’t have the time, you’re not sure how or maybe you’ve been afraid of putting yourself out there. When you are single, you have to prepare yourself for attention. Trust me, the truth is that when you look fabulous it rarely goes unnoticed.

No, every woman is not going to be a super model but it doesn’t mean you have to live life being a shlump a dump. Great clothes and fashion say a lot about a woman, men appreciate women who can hit the right fashion notes because they notice when you look great and other women look a mess.

Men may not care about brands and designers but they clearly understand the difference between sexy clothes that fit versus a b*tch trying too hard in a skirt too tight.

Just don’t buy anything that isn’t sexy!

Like, pants. We all have a bin of free t-shirts and pajama pants so it’s not like your wardrobe isn’t well supplied with male deterring cotton panties and wife beaters. As we speak your wardrobe is full of sensible, smart, safe items of clothing. You have purchased more black than at an Adam’s Family yard sale. The next time you’re shopping and you have an option to buy an item in any other color: just do it.

Women forget to ask themselves the most important question when shopping, “Where am I going to wear this?” On a date of course!

If not on a date then possibly to work but other than a special occasion: where are you going? Where the hell are you going to wear a Pashmina with dachshunds all over it? *side eye* head tilt*

If you pick up an item and the first exclamation from your mouth is, “this is so cute,” put it back and step away. Adult women are NOT meant to look cute. You want to look smart, sexy, seductive, fun and fertile. Of course many people are set to argue, “If I don’t like it, I won’t wear it,” or “I don’t want to attract negative attention.”
Fine but don’t complain when you’re at a mixer or a party and all the men are flocking to other women and not you.

Women are constantly sizing up the competition, sometimes with jealousy and envy. They notice other women in skirts, prints and bright colors and secretly wish they could wear things like that. You can! Just like a man a hot wardrobe is NOT going to just appear at your door.

The fact is you’ve made it this far but Abercrombie & Fitch and American Eagle have age limits. You fell into the Gap at 16 it might be time to climb out of that rut.

Check your belongings for the following items. This is all you need to have a banging wardrobe the rest are just great accessories.

  • One pair of jeans that make you look skinny
  • Matching bra and panties
  • A little black dress
  • Fishnets
  • A well fitted blazer
  • Black pumps
  • Red lipstick – I know its not actually clothes but it looks great by itself

What changes could you make to help your wardrobe be date friendly?
